Quick two day trip. Drove up in the morning, long overland hike up South Fork of Big Pine Creek. Up and over Contact Pass, then overland out to Second Lake and out North Fork. Slight mishap on the snow.
I forget which book I was reading that said “Stalin, like every good peasant, had the capacity to suffer.” For some reason that kept going through my head.
